Tafraout:  A scenic trip south of great beauty; a day out for all camera enthusiasts and lovers of mountains. Leaving Agadir around 7 and climbing  some 3500 feet into the astonishing grandeur of the Anti Atlas mountains – we see below us adobe villages clinging precariously to the mountain slopes, as well as abandoned kasbahs and palmeraies. Optional lunch, with time to explore the town of pink granite rock, giving the impression of growing straight from the slopes. A lunar landscape, hemmed in on all sides by red, boulder-strewn mountains, plantations of almond trees and date palm palmeraies, the scenery is quite awesome. Our return journey takes us through the Tizi Kerdous and on to Tiznit, a pink walled town with its old French Foreign Legion fortress and renowned filigree silver work, and on back to Agadir by the early evening.
